We caught up with the Managing Director of Fieldfare, Matt Whelan.

• Who are you? Where are you from? And what do you do?

Hi, Matt Whelan, from, North West England but have lived all over the country and I am the Managing Director for Fieldfare.

• What was your first job?

National Account Executive at Wonderbra.

• What is the most rewarding part of your current job?

Working with the whole team and the shareholders to grow the business.

• Why do you think these Awards are important?

Farmshops and independent retailers provide a unique offer to the local community. Each business is run by an entrepreneur. Fieldfare has worked closely together with Farmshops ever since the business was founded in 1977, so it felt the perfect fit.

• If you could give your teenage self any advice what would it be?

It’s a marathon not a sprint.
