Benefits of entering

The Farm Shop & Deli Awards are a fantastic way for specialist retailers in the food and drink sector to showcase all the great work you and your team are doing nationally and with your local customers.

HOW HAS WINNING HELPED CANNON HALL FARM SHOP?

They are FREE to enter but can bring great rewards. All you need is the time to prepare and submit your answers.

For 2025 we're looking to help promote worthy retailers through our Social Media channels, website and email campaigns to help put them on the map.

Eligible entrants will be judged by our panel of experts in October, with our Category Finalists listed on our website in February and promoted through our Social Media and email campaigns.

Following the winners announcement on Monday 7th April 2025, we will display all category and regional winners on our website and promote this through Social Media, email and PR campaigns.

Here's just a few more benefits you can gain from entering:

HEAR FROM PREVIOUS WINNERS ON THE BENEFITS OF ENTERING

"I think I would encourage other retailers to enter because the entry process gives you an opportunity to think about your business. And actually it gives you an opportunity to concisely outline your business, which in the line will probably help you long term actually understand your business more."

Mark Kacary, Managing Director, Norfolk Deli - Best Retailer Delicatessen and Anglia Regional Winner 2024

"The number of new customers that have been encouraged to seek us out has been great - the award has certainly seemed to spur on people that have been following us on social media to come in and see what we’re about."

Chris & Dan, Chorlton Cheesemongers - North West Small Regional Winners 2023

"It's just a fantastic opportunity to get exposure throughout the UK and get recognition for all the hard work we put in together. And it's also a nice thing for all the staff that are involved to show them that they're working hard and it's not for nothing."

Hayden Cutting, Master Fishmonger, Bells Fishmongers - Best Retailer Fishmonger 2024

"We would definitely encourage other businesses to enter.  It is a great opportunity to see how your business compares to similar businesses across the country, and the opportunity to see if what other companies are doing could be beneficial to your own business going forward."

Megan McAllister, Foodhall Senior Assistant Buyer, House of Bruar - Scotland Large Regional Winners 2023

"Give it a shot, because we nearly didn't - I just literally signed up. We came to the Farm Shop & Deli Show last year and saw the awards and we thought we would enter, and we really didn't expect to win anything, so we're quite shocked and still processing this."

Glenda Ruddell and Rachel Mccann, High Street Harvest - Northern Ireland Regional Winner 2024

“It was well worth entering the Awards. We’ve had so much exposure, it’s a really high profile Award and we’re delighted to win it. I think they are very important, they are really useful in promoting and marketing your business.”

Richard Nicholson, Director, Cannon Hall Farm Shop, winner Retailer of the Year 2019

"The Farm Shop & Deli Awards are hugely respected within our industry nationwide and winning is something we have always aspired to, since the store opened in 2016. We entered the awards in our first year of operation and despite not being successful, we found the feedback from the judges invaluable, and it made us determined to win in a future year. We are so proud that 2023 was our year."

Keren Cooksey, Brand & Marketing Manager, Great Cornish Food Store - South West Regional Winner 2023
